The Restaurant Massimo D'Azeglio, begun its activity more than a century ago and still retains the splendid early twentieth-century boiseries.
Smell of Risorgimento’s time fine cooking .
The restaurant holds an assortment of paintings and prints of the Risorgimento’s epoch , including a self-portrait and three drawings of Massimo D'Azeglio. In this elegant, warm and welcoming ambience which retained the original "Umbertino" style, the traditional Italian cuisine has a prevailing character.
A menu that satisfy the old traditions.
Let the Massimo D’Azeglio maitre advise you: he will take you through an interesting culinary itinerary. For instance: meat ravioli served with sauced scallops sauce, orecchiette with broccoli and ricotta cheese, tonnarelli with seafood, cod fish alla livornese with polenta, crusted pork served with apple sauce, gran bollito misto, lamb alla romana ... and many other dishes, one better than the other. Dulcis in fundo: the delicious desserts!
The wine and its extended tradition.
Each dish is accompanied by a fine wine. According to the tradition the selection of menus and wines is accomplished by Bettoja family.
Wine cellar: years of history.
Renowned throughout Rome, is one of the most celebrated of Italy. Located in the basement of the Massimo D'Azeglio Hotel and built in a real cave, the wine cellar is decorated with the classic wooden beams. It has a proper collection of thousands of bottles of wines, Italian and French, some of them tracing back to the beginning of the century XX. Through the years, the winery has become a place of remarkable wine tastings and dinners. You can book the Cellar of the Massimo D'Azeglio Hotel for dinners and private parties.
A nice day starts from breakfast.
The comfortable breakfast room is open from 06.30 am to 10.30 am. Here there is a marble bust of Umberto I of Savoy, second King of Italy. An international buffet with cereals, fresh fruit, freshly baked croissants, fruit juices, selection of ham and cheeses and yoghurt, awaits you for your sweet awakening. Close to this room there is another one that can accommodate the morning breakfasts in times of increased affluence.
The Cafè. A moment of relax, after years of history.
The Cafè is situated at the bottom of the lobby. Cosy and refined it is a meeting place for a drink, for chatting and to taste the "tapas" prepared by the Bar tender. It is open from 9 pm to midnight, is also available to guests for room service.
